The September 10, 2015, presentation ”Military-Civilian Partnership” featured Tiffany Speir, Program Manager, South Sound Military and Communities Partnership, and Juris Doctor, Seattle University School of Law (1997). Herb was MC. Tiffany presented an informative outline of the history and critical importance of the South Sound Military and Communities Partnership, starting from its creation in response to the 2010 JBLM Growth and Coordination Plan, funded by a grant from the DOD Office of Economic Adjustment. The Partnership is involved in major decisions regarding JBLM which affect our region, even including assuring that soldiers, their dependents, and military retirees have access to current information. The membership of the Partnership includes local cities and towns, tribes, school districts, many Washington State Departments, JBLM and Tacoma-Pierce County. We can credit the Partnership with providing all of us with the most current information regarding the economic and demographic changes which have affected the military-civilian community during the past several years. Thank you, Tiffany, for being at the center of this huge and successful endeavor.
