JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. – The 3-2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 7th Infantry Division is finalizing plans with the Indian Army to participate in exercise Yudh Abhyas during the month of September. This will be the 11th iteration of this exercise and its first time being held at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
Yudh Abhyas is an annual bilateral exercise between U.S. Army Pacific and the Indian Army. Yudh Abhyas focuses on combined U.S. and Indian Army training while promoting an enduring partnership and joint interoperability since its inception in 2004.
Training has adapted to ever-changing and complex mission environments, with a focus on low-intensity, counter-insurgent actions; civic assistance missions; and quick-reaction team operations — increasing the capabilities of both militaries to respond to a wide range of contingencies related to United Nations missions.
