The Governor’s office has issued the following news release:
Governor Inslee is deeply saddened by the death of Washington State Patrol Detective Brent Hanger, 47, of Mount Vernon, and directs that Washington State and United States flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff in his memory on Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Detective Hanger died on August 6 after suffering a medical condition while on assignment.
Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business or sunset on August 11 or first thing Wednesday morning, August 12, 2015. Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
Services will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at 1:00 PM at Skagit Valley College, 2405 East College Way, Mount Vernon.
