President and CEO of Travel Tacoma + Pierce County, Bennish Brown, knows the importance of locals being aware of their own destination, “We know that when our visitors are here, often they are spending time with friends and family who live in Pierce County,” says Brown. “That’s why each and every member of our community has the opportunity to be an ambassador for tourism in Pierce County. We want locals to be aware of the great experiences visitors can have. We also want to make sure they know about the resources offered by our information center and our knowledgeable staff and volunteers.”
The scavenger hunt will begin and end at Tacoma’s Visitor Information Center located on the first floor of the Greater Tacoma Convention & Trade Center. Participants will play as teams as they explore the city. The groups will follow clues that take them around downtown and then answer questions specific to their location.
Participants will have an hour to complete as many questions as they can. Once the hour is up, they will return to the Visitor Information Center to enjoy cupcakes from Hello, Cupcake as they wait for the winner to be announced. Winners under 21, need to be accompanied by someone over 21 for the overnight stay.
Tacoma’s Visitor Information Center is located on the first floor of the Greater Tacoma Convention & Trade Center.
