University Place, Wash. – West Pierce Fire & Rescue is geared up and handling fire and emergency medical services at the U.S. Open this week. Each day, firefighters are staffing medic units, bike teams, and specialized medical carts throughout Chambers Bay Golf Course.
There will be no interruption to everyday 911 services or responses in Lakewood, University Place, or Steilacoom. The crews stationed at Chambers Bay are working solely at the U.S. Open to respond to fire or medical calls on the course.
With the warm weather, West Pierce Fire & Rescue would like to remind spectators to be sure to hydrate properly while attending the U.S. Open. For information on the U.S. Open itself, please visit www.piercecountywa.org/usopen.
