The Lakewood City Council recently awarded a series of contruction bids that will result in improved streets and utilities beginning later this summer:
- Chip Seal Program: In May, the Lakewood City Council awarded the $218,810 bid for its 2015 Chip Seal Program to Granite Construction Company. Working with the Public Works Department, the contractor is scheduled to begin the work (Oakbrook 3rd Addition) in July, with a tentative completion date sometime in August.
- Overlay Projects: Also, the Council awarded a $475,064 contract to Miles Resources for construction of its 2015 overlay projects, including Main Street from Gravelly Lake Drive to 108th Street and 59th Avenue rehab from 100th Street to Bridgeport Way.
- Woodbrook Sewer Extension: In May, the Council also awarded a nearly $1.3 million contract to Northwest Cascade, Inc., for construction of the second phase of the Woodbrook Sewer Extension Project. Through this project, the City will construct sanitary sewer infrastructure along 146th St SW, Woodbrook Drive and 150th Street SW in the Woodbrook neighborhood. This extension will complete the loop of sanitary sewer infrastructure in the Woodbrook industrial zoned area. Additional improvements include storm drainage improvments and full depth asphalt roadway reconstruction.
