We think this beautifully furred lady is named Princess Penelope, and that the gentleman is some sort of wizard. We are not sure this is correct and we don’t know what play they may have performed in. One report though, says that the Lakewood Puppeteers performed before 350,000 children over their 50 year career. Some of those thousands are surely grown up, and those with good taste are reading The Suburban Times.
When the exhibit of Lakewood Puppeteers opens on Saturday, May 9, at the Lakewood History Museum, it will be a celebration of 50 years since the Lakewood Puppeteers started in 1965. If you remember these puppets or any others from this troupe, please share with us — via email — and win a copy of Dorothy Wilhelm’s Teeny Tiny Book, No Assembly Required.
