It was the beginning of a new tradition, Downton Abbey Days, at Yorkshire Yarns on May 1 and 2. Owner Sonya Acord went to all lengths to make this an event for the whole area for those who knit or crochet and all yarn enthusiasts. Decorated in an era theme, with even the employees dressing in the era, the event included a traditional teatime. Tea and crumpets were provided by Steep in Comfort.
One of the event’s hits was yarn vendor Kerry Graber, owner of Jorstad Creek Yarns, who provided yarn named after characters of the famous Downton Abbey TV series. Many garments knitted and crocheted by clients were displayed throughout the store. Even a Union Jack was found outside the door, billowing in the wind.
All who visited or were involved in this special event had a fun time. Come see Sonya at Yorkshire Yarns, located at 6122 Motor Ave. SW, Lakewood. And call her at 253-589-9276 with any questions you may have. Or check out Sonya’s website: www.yorkshireyarns.com/
