The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency has received limited grant funding and is offering up to $350 to Pierce County residents who recycle old, but working wood stoves. Previously, this incentive had only been available to residents living within Pierce County’s designated Smoke Reduction Zone. Now this opportunity applies to any resident of the greater Pierce County area. However, the offer is limited to the first 100 qualified applicants who live outside the Smoke Reduction Zone. Applicants must include a photo of their old wood stove or insert.
Eligible devices include wood stoves and fireplace inserts. They must be in working order but can be installed or un-installed, and be of any age.
Indoor barrel stoves and trash burners are not eligible for the reward.
