When LASA’s doors opened Monday morning, a mountain of gifts were waiting to be discovered. Staff were pleased to find the items along with a note offering explanation.
The donations were provided anonymously from a Lakewood resident familiar with LASA’s annual holiday drives which collect presents for families residing in emergency or transitional housing.
During a recent battle with illness, the donor received an outpouring of gifts and well wishes from friends and family, and decided to graciously contribute some of these items to the families reached by LASA. “I wanted to share since I was so fortunate to receive a lot,” the note said.
Generous displays of support from the community—such as this one—enable LASA to continue serving families in Pierce County. We express our deepest thanks to this patron, and our best wishes for a continued recovery.
