Calling all 1964 Clover Park and Lakes Graduates

June 29, 2014 By The Suburban Times

A joint reunion committee has been working hard to plan a weekend of fun activities for our 50th year joint class reunion. Classmates from both graduating classes have joined to throw a joint reunion because so many of us went to school together from grade school and have fond memories of our friends from those days.  The reunions weekend is scheduled from August 22 through August, 24 2014.  If you are from a previous or later class and wish to attend we welcome you!

  • Friday Night Wine Tasting – August 22, 7 PM to 10 PM:  Upstairs Lounge at C.I.Shenanigans Restuartant on the Commencement Bay Waterfront.  Wine tasting featuring  great wines, fantastic Hors d’oeuvres, soft drinks, coffee and tea which will be the fare of the evening.A “no-host” bar will also be available for beer or spirits.  Ticket prices $43.50 before July 8 and $49.00 after July 8th.
  • Saturday Morning Golf Tourney – August 23,  8 AM Shotgun Best Ball:  We will play at the recently renovated American Lake Veteran’s Hospital Golf Course.  Golf and lunch included as well as clubs and cart if needed  Greens fees and barbecue lunch are $30 before July 8th, $34.50 after July 8th.

This event is being planned by Glenn Malm who is a Veteran and also a PGA Golf Pro. It is a fundraiser for our veterans so the fees  will be donated to the Golf Course Maintenance fund.  Please see the article on the website for more information.  www.cloverparklakes1964.com

Saturday Night Gala  August 23 6 PM until….  Oakbrook Restaurant at Oakbrook Golf  and Country Club.  “No Host” cocktail hour 6:00-7:00 with hors d’oeuvres, followed by a prime rib and fresh salmon buffet dinner with all the fixin’s; music from “The Great Pretenders” begins at 8:00pm. There is lots of time and space to re-connect with friends and party or sit quietly and talk.   Dinner Dance tickets are $57.00 before July 8 and $65.00 after July 8th.

Sunday Picnic – August 24 from 1-4 PM.  We have a reserved area with barbecues and covered seating near the Zoo where we can relax and visit and share a picnic lunch which will be provided.  Visit the rose garden, or the Zoo or take a stroll on Ownens Beach, watch the fishmen come in at the boat dock, and take pictures with old friends. Picnic tickets before July 8th $12.50 each and after July 8th $14.50 each.

Visit the reunion web site at www.cloverparklakes1964.com. Select  a user name and password and register as a class member. There’s no financial obligation when you register. This process simply captures your contact information in our database so you keep receiving updated information about the reunion.  You can post photos, buy your events tickets now or at a later date, comment in the blog section, add thoughts and pictures in the memorial section and, of course, your put up your latest Bio. Check out the music.  It is done by the Great Pretenders who will play at the Gala!

Alums  can help by locating other alums and encouraging them to register for the reunion as well.  We have a memorial page and want to be sure that we have all names from both schools of those who should to be remembered.  Please notify the committee if you see someone who is not listed and should be.

You can also become a reunion sponsor/ benefactor or join the Lancers and Warriors Sponsors Club; Gold, Silver and Bronze participation levels are available.  Go to the Sponsors Page  on the web site which details available sponsorships and Sponsors Club information.  We are also entertaining sponsorships for each hole that we play in the golf tournament which will support our format and awesome prizes.
