Lakewood Community Foundation announces grant distributions

The Lakewood Community Foundation Fund has approved and distributed $13,000 in grants benefiting the Lakewood community for 2014. Beneficiaries are:

  • Springbrook Youth Summer Program – $1,000 – In memory of Akiko Cherry
  • Communities in Schools of Lakewood – $2,000 – After School programs
  • Pierce College Foundation – $1,000 – Lakewood Computer Clubhouse
  • Caring for Kids – $3,000 – Ready to Learn Fair
  • Clover Park Technical College – $2,000 –  Scholarships
  • Boy & Girls Club of Lakewood – $2,000 – BOTTLab
  • YMCA – $1,000 – Lakewood Summer Swim Program
  • Associated Ministries – $1,000 – Paint Lakewood Beautiful

The Lakewood Community Foundation Fund (LCFF) is currently a $750,000 dollar endowment raised by citizens and businesses in Lakewood desiring to keep Lakewood a wonderful community in which to live work and play.  The fund allows us a way to give back to our community for the exceptional opportunities and quality of life Lakewood provides.The needs of the most unfortunate among us are great and at times, overpowering. We can to make a difference in the lives of our fellow citizens through the Foundation.
