Tacoma Events Commission Thanks West Pierce for Freedom Fair Preparation

June 23, 2014 By West Pierce Fire & Rescue

UNIVERSITY PLACE – The Tacoma Events Commission thanked West Pierce Fire & Rescue with a certification of appreciation for their assistance in repairing buoys in preparation of the Freedom Fair on the Ruston Way waterfront.

West Pierce divers went to Commencement Bay in the Endeavor fire boat to assist in locating, repairing, and replacing buoys in the area.  The buoy itself, along with the chain and anchor, had to be inspected and in working condition.  Ones that were not operational were replaced.  Without these measures, the airshow is not possible during the Freedom Fair on the 4th of July.

The Freedom Fair is a great event for the entire family and a wonderful, safe way to enjoy a fireworks display this holiday.  West Pierce is proud to be able to assist in the Tacoma Events Commission’s efforts.
