If you haven’t gotten your reservation for the 36th Annual McChord Heritage Dinner, which honors military retirees of all services, you still have time. Dinner is on Saturday, 21 June, 6:30 PM at the McChord Club. The McChord Retiree Activities Office (RAO) presents this traditional event yearly, to honor all US military retirees. Retirees, Active Duty, Civilian Base/Post employees, families and friends are cordially invited.
Keynote speaker, Miss Betty Dybbro of Lakewood, was a World War II WASP (Women’s Airforce Service Pilot). She has exciting tales to tell of her experiences! To complement her presentation, there will be displays of both women’s and men’s uniforms through the years, as well as historical military artifacts.
Dress for the ladies is dinner-dress/semi-formal, and coat and tie for the gentlemen. Retirees are encouraged to wear their uniform. The menu selections are Sliced London Broil or Filet of King Salmon, with beverage and dessert. Each is $22.20 for Club members. Non-Club members, add $2.00. Reservations are required by Friday, 20 June. Please stop by or call the Club, 253-982-5581 or 253-584-1371. For information on the dinner call the Retiree Office, 253-982-3214 or 253-982-5234, week-days, 9:30 to 12 noon.
