UPSD at Tacoma Narrows Rotary

What’s new at school? Curtis High School Viking NJROTC Cadets and instructors will be the program at Tacoma Narrows Rotary on Tuesday, May 20 (7 am).

The Rotary Club of Tacoma Narrows meets weekly at the Fircrest Golf Club for fellowship, breakfast, and an informative and interesting presentation from a guest speaker.

Upcoming Programs

May 27 – Pat Purcell, of SCCA Proton Therapy, a ProCure Center, will present to us on cancel treatment modalities, an the latest in proton therapy.

June 3 – Barbara Greatwood, of Centralia Rotary unveils an ambitious water & sanitation project of the Centralia Club. Check your map to see where Papua New Guinea might be.

June 10 – UPSD Students of the Month – last group for 2013-14 school year. Come and congratulate these great kids.

June 17 – President’s Choice – Outgoing President Jay Mosser will look in his rear view mirror at the last year, and fill us in on his trip to India and “lessons learned”.

June 24 – Bring a friend to this one….Tom Miner, head of the FEMA-sponsored Pierce County Urban Search & Rescue Team, which worked the Oso disaster, will tell us what it’s like to manage a disaster of this magnitude, with “behinds the scenes” information. Tom has been a Search & Rescue Specialist with the Pierce County Sheriff for much of his 27 years there, and recently retired to run US&R.
