National Small Business Week is an opportunity to recognize the local organizations that create the foundations of communities across the United States. According to the U.S. Small Business Administration:
- There are 147,948 small businesses in Washington State according to the most recent available data, which account for 55.7% of private sector employment.
- There are three million small businesses in America that account for 54% of all U.S. sales.
- Small businesses provide 55% of all jobs in America.
- The 600,000 plus franchised small businesses in the U.S. provide jobs for some eight million people.
