The following principals and assistant principals will fill key roles in Clover Park School District (CPSD) in 2014-15.
Tim Stults- Clover Park High School
Tim Stults will be the new principal at Clover Park High School (CPHS). Stults has worked in an urban, high-poverty turnaround high school with a significant English Language Learner population. Under his leadership, the school made huge strides in school climate, Advanced Placement course offerings, graduation rate and student success as measured in many ways. Stults earned his bachelor’s degree in English and education from Ohio Wesleyan University and his master’s degree in education administration and principal credential from Pacific Lutheran University.
Stults replaces current principal John Seaton, who has been principal at CPHS since 2005.
Jane Al-Tamimi- Custer Elementary
Jane Al-Tamimi will be the new principal at Custer Elementary. Al-Tamimi is an experienced special educator who is currently on special assignment as an assistant to the Garfield Elementary principal in Olympia. She is filling in on most aspects of the current principal’s role this year as he is largely occupied with construction issues, providing her with first-hand experience in managing all aspects of an elementary school. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Heritage University in Toppenish, Wash. She completed her principal certificate program at the University of Washington- Tacoma.
Tamimi replaces Lisa Stevens, who has been Custer’s principal since 2011.
Jennifer Moore- Dower Elementary
Jennifer Moore will be the next principal at Dower Elementary. Moore is currently the principal at Napavine Elementary where she has been the last two years. Prior to that, she was an assistant principal in Tumwater for three years. She earned her master’s degree in educational leadership and her principal administration certificate from Pacific Lutheran University.
Moore replaces Paula Dawson who is leaving for a principal position in Franklin Pierce School District.
Josh Zarling- Lochburn Middle School
Josh Zarling has been selected as the new principal at Lochburn Middle School. Zarling has worked in two CPSD schools, Hudtloff Middle School as assistant principal for two years (2007-09) and as principal at Beachwood Elementary for three years (2009-12). For the last two years, he has been the middle school principal at the International School Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago. He earned his bachelor’s degree in history, master’s degree in educational administration, professional teaching certificate and K-12 principal’s residency certificate from Western Washington University.
Zarling replaces Helen Wilson, who is resigning to pursue a doctorate degree.
Jeff Miller- Tillicum Elementary
Jeff Miller will be the new principal at Tillicum Elementary. Miller has been in the state of California for his educational career. He has spent six years as an elementary teacher and 11 years as an administrator. He earned his teaching and principal credentials and master’s degree in educational administration at California State University- San Bernardino after serving six years as a deputy sheriff in Los Angeles County.
Miller replaces Taj Jensen who will be the new principal at Tyee Park Elementary.
- Jaclyn Shope will be the assistant principal at Evergreen Elementary. Shope currently works in the Steilacoom School District. She replaces Leila Davis, who will be the new principal of Oakwood Elementary for the 2014-15 school year.
- Kylie Danielson will be the new assistant principal at Southgate Elementary. Danielson is completing her principal internship this year at Oakwood Elementary.
- Jason Greer will be the assistant principal at Woodbrook. Greer is currently an assistant principal in University Place. He replaces current assistant principal Michael Vincent, who will be the supervisor of technology and instruction in the teaching and learning department for the 2014-15 school year.
