Pierce County Water Quality topic of discussion at Rotary meeting

May 11, 2014 By The Suburban Times

Pierce County’s water quality, from source to home and business, will be the subject of the Tuesday, May 13 (7 am) program at Tacoma Narrows Rotary. Brad Harp, of the County Health Department, will detail insights into the challenges facing our drinking water, a precious commodity that we all take for granted, and which is becoming increasingly valuable.  (Did you know there are over 1500 water systems in Pierce County?)

The Rotary Club of Tacoma Narrows meets weekly at the Fircrest Golf Club for fellowship, breakfast, and an informative and interesting presentation from a guest speaker.

Upcoming Programs

  • May 20 – University Place School District News and Newsmakers
  • May 27–  Welllll, I’m still working on that one, okay?  I have an invitation out, but haven’t heard back yet.
  • June 3 – Papua New Guinea (Google Earth this one) is the site of a Rotary matching grant program run by the Centralia Rotary Club.  It’s about clean water, proper sanitation, and the power of Rotary to change lives.  They are coming a long ways to tell us about this terrific project.
  • June 10 – President’s Choice:  Jay Mosser, our outgoing President, will give us a rear view mirror assessment of his year, and tell us some engrossing stories about his recent trip to India.
