Webster named scholar athlete

May 6, 2014 By Clover Park School District

The Tacoma-Pierce County chapter of the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame named Lakes High School senior Nick Webster as its 2014 scholar athlete winner. Each May, an awards banquet is held to honor the top scholar athletes from every high school in Pierce County.

Each high school can nominate two senior student athletes from their school; Webster and Johnny Weeks were nominated by Lakes’ head football coach Dave Miller. After reviewing all nominations, the foundation selected Webster as one of eight semifinalists and went on to win the scholar athlete award. Webster was honored at a banquet held on May 4 at Curtis High School.

“Congratulations to Nick on earning this very prestigious award,” said Miller. “Through his hard work and dedication, he has shown he is very deserving of this honor.”

The award also comes with a $1,500 scholarship. Webster plans to attend the Davidson Honors College at the University of Montana and major in business.
