Around the Sound: Steilacoom’s 2014 Clean-up and Book Drive

The Girl Scout Troop 40332 African Library Project in Malawi was doing a brisk business on Saturday collecting books and funds to ship materials to Africa.

"Thanks to all who contributed," said Nikki Hobbs, who headed up the project to qualify for the Girl Scout equivalent of the Eagle Rank.

Outside Steilacoom's Public Works building on the last weekend of April was like a fast-food drive-up window as town residents kept up a steady pace of dropping off materials to be recycled at the town's annual event.
