LAKEWOOD – Three athletes, two coaches, and two teams will be inducted into the Pierce College Athletics Hall of Fame during a special ceremony Saturday, April 26, at the Health Education Center at Pierce College Fort Steilacoom.
The 2014 Hall of Fame ceremony will mark the third class of inductees, recognizing nearly 45 years of outstanding athletic achievements by student athletes at Pierce College. This year’s class will feature the 1989-90 men’s basketball team, and the 1998 women’s volleyball team. Individual athletes to be inducted include Anthony Adams (basketball), Yukari Kuranuki (softball), and Tim Wahl (baseball). Also to be inducted with this year’s class will be coaches Darin Gearhart (men’s basketball coach) and Roberta Kalalau (volleyball).

The Athletics Hall of Fame is made possible by the Pierce College Foundation and the Pierce College Athletics Department. The Hall of Fame was established in 2009 to recognize and honor the outstanding athletic achievements of former student-athletes, and the efforts of coaches, staff, alumni and other individuals who have made significant contributions to the Pierce College Intercollegiate Athletics. The Hall of Fame membership spans the college’s athletic history and includes many of Pierce’s finest athletes, coaches and supporters of the program.
