Have you had any homestyle cooking, in a restaurant, in the past few days? For me it is a meatloaf sandwich, something few people have tried. Penny’s on the Boulevard Restaurant and Bar has the best I have had since the last time I made a meatloaf that wasn’t scooped instead of sliced.
I am not the best at making meatloaf henceforth scooping opposed to slice and serve so I commend anyone that can make a great meatloaf then make a sandwich with slices. Having had lunch at Penny’s the other day I was told that most of their food is made in-house from bread to pastrami. Prices are fantastic.
A meatloaf sandwich with grilled onions and bar-b-que sauce and side of salad or fries is $9. A open face turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy is $8. A good price, atmosphere, and friendly staff make this a must to go back to. Penny’s is located on Steilacoom Boulevard in the former Porter and Stouts or of late, Lakewood Pub and Grill.
