Thanks to an agreement finalized on March 31, guests of the 2014 Washington State Fair can plan to “Do the Puyallup!” on a Pierce Transit “Fair Express” bus.
From September 5 – 21, 2014, Fair guests can catch Pierce Transit buses from South Hill Mall and Lakewood Towne Center to the Washington State Fair Events Center with limited stops. Fair Express bus service will run hourly from approximately 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Mondays thru Thursdays, and run every 30 minutes from approximately 9:30 a.m. to 11:15 p.m. Fridays thru Sundays.
Fares are set at Pierce Transit’s regular rates of $2 for adults, 75 cents for youth age 6 to 18 years, and free for age 5 and younger. Riders may use their ORCA cards for the service.
Pierce Transit is excited to offer express bus service to the Washington State Fair in Puyallup for the first time since 2010. Customer feedback indicated the community has missed the service and looks forward to its return.
