Tacoma, WA – Join Tacoma’s organizations, destinations, restaurants and pubs to get into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit! Irish events will take place throughout the month of March, giving the Tacoma community plenty of opportunities to celebrate Irish music, dance, food and, yes, the color green.

What to see:
March 16 – Broadway Center for the Performing Arts: Caladh Nua
Catch traditional Irish group Caladh Nua’s performance at the Rialto Theater just in time for St. Patrick’s Day! Caladh Nua is a tightly-knit, vibrant and talented band with origins deeply rooted in the southeastern counties of Ireland. These five versatile musicians and singers play a wide selection of instruments – from banjo to fiddle, guitar to bodhrán and tin whistle to button accordion.
March 22 – Museum of Glass: Céilí Mór
In conjunction with the exhibition CAUTION! Fragile. Irish Glass: Tradition in Transition, Museum of Glass is hosting a traditional Céilí Mór. Guests will enjoy music by renowned Irish musician Liam Ó Maonlai and the Carrigaline Celtic Band, a performance by dancers from the Tony Comerford School of Dance and an opportunity to join in for the set dancing led by caller Kieran O’Mahony.
What to do:
March 15 – Tacoma City Marathon Association: St. Paddy’s Day Run
TCMA and Bud Light present the 2014 St. Paddy’s Day Run. This event features a half marathon as well as 10K, 5K and 1K races with beautiful courses that sweep you through the heart of Tacoma. After the race, stop by Meconi’s Pub for discounted beer prices! Register by March 14.
Point Defiance Zoo: Go Green
Watch Zoo animals receive special green enrichment treats and toys. Discover what it means to “be green” and learn about the Zoo’s green practices.
Doyle’s Public House: Working Person’s St. Patrick’s Day
Working hard all week? Well, Doyle’s has you covered! Enjoy live music from The Rusty Cleavers at 8 pm and the Ethan Tucker Band at 9:30 pm.
Pierce County Firefighters Pipes and Drums:St. Paddy’s Day Pub Crawl
Ride safely with a band of bagpipers between several pubs and eateries, including Doyle’s and The Swiss, to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! Proceeds go to Pierce County Firefighters Pipes and Drums. Choose from Saturday, March 15, or Monday, March 17!

March 14-17 – Paesan Kitchen and Bar and The Social Bar and Grill: Irish Specials
Both restaurants will be offering Irish specials on their menu over St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Social will feature lamb and Guinness™ stew and a grasshopper tort, while its sister restaurant Paesan will offer a leprechaun pie. Both will feature Irish drink specials.
March 17 – Doyle’s Public House: St. Patrick’s Day Food
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with traditional Irish food! Corned beef & cabbage will be served at Doyle’s while supplies last. Guests can also enjoy free live music, starting at 3 pm.
