The monthly meeting of the UP Historical Society will occur on Wednesday, March 12th at 7pm in Suite D-2 (next to the Museum) in the Windmill Village Complex (City Hall).
Consistent with our policy of having informative and entertaining meetings, Joan Curtis of the Steilacoom Historical Museum Association and Heritage League of Pierce County Lifetime Achievement Award, will introduce us (verbally) to “The Bad Boys of McNeil.” With the prison on McNeil Island closed, this is a timely reflection on some of the renowned criminals that have been incarcerated there. She will be assisted in the presentation by her “cellmate”, I mean historical society colleague Perry “Buzz” Brake. Buzz is the curator at the Steilacoom Historical Museum Association Wagon Shop. This is a meeting you don’t want to miss!
As always, UP Historical Society meetings are open to the public and donations will be accepted on behalf of the Museum.
