Westside Story – Starbucks Opening

March 2, 2014 By Joe Boyle

Where will you be on Monday, March 3, 2014? Do not say Starbucks at the Towne Center. They will be closed including the Starbucks trailer as they make ready to transition into the newly remodeled Starbucks store.

Where will you be at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2014? I know where I will be; our all new Starbucks located at 6040 Main St SW. I want to be the first customer to cross the threshold and saunter up to the Order Bar.

500019634c55c87189154cdd7c3bbe16Our Starbucks is so popular they wanted to make more room in the lobby for us. The improvements include all new furniture, condiments bar, and a floor-to-ceiling chill to hold sandwiches, beverages and pastries. The Starbucks Community Art Wall will still be a part of our store.

Improvements have been made to help dampen the backline noise of beverage preparation and the loud din of conversation from all the happy customers having fun with their friends.

Mark your calendar for the Grand Opening Celebration to be held on Friday, March 28, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. There will be custom coffee tastings and other festivities to make the day especially fun.

Starbucks employs 29 individuals, ranging from partners in their first week to senior partners who have worked at Starbucks for years.

Our first Starbucks opened in The Lakewood Mall, about 300’ from the current location in February of 1989. Starbucks moved to it’s present location adding a drive-thru in February 2006. In 2011 the second store was redecorated. Coming up March 4, 2014, we will enjoy this new major remodel.

I can hardly wait to see my Starbucks friends, Ralf, Ralph, Edra, Danny, Kristi, Krista, Ann, Paul (3), Patrick, Mark, Chelsie, Chelsea, Miranda, Martha, Stan, Amy (2), Ronnie, Julie, Joe (3), Dennis, Rob, Dan, Michelle, Kaila, Sarah, Glenda, Alex (2), Jim (3), Bobbi, Gary (3), Lenny, Sandy, Bill, Pat, Andy (3), Dave (6), Jim, Tom (3), Sharli, Larry, Kjeri, Jim, Lois, John (3), Sheila, Phyllis (2), Debbie, Roger, Drew (2), Steve, Peggy, Wally, Rich, Martha, Sonja, Angel, Gabe, Angelo, Mark, Margaret AKA “The Bag Lady”, Arlene, Barbara, Ben, Alan, Harry, Carla, Skip, Kathi, Paige, Eric, Christopher (3), Peg, Peggy, Dawn, Dorothy, Sigrid, Garner, Harry, Peter, Ingrid, Soren, Jack, Jan, Jeffery, Kay, Ken, Kelly, Lace, Tito, Tito II, Terry, Marne, Larry, LInda (2), Mary, Wayne (2), Mel, Michael (3), Rosanne, Ruthann, Walt, Dani, Lindsey, Sandy, Jean, Hank, Davlynn, Vince, Lindsey, Wally, Sarah, Petra, Neil, Kayden, Edmund, HGF, and Q to just name a few.

See you at the new Starbucks.
