Join the DuPont Historical Society reception celebrating the late Senator Mike Carrell’s legacy in DuPont on Saturday, Feb. 8th from 2-5 pm at the DuPont Community Center, 303 Barkesdale Avenue.
Senator Carrell was an advocate of preserving and promoting Pierce County’s historical landmarks and a member of the DuPont Historical Society. He personally worked on the restoration of DuPont’s 1940s era Dynamite train engine and helped secure funding for the train canopy.
Mrs. Carrell will be in attendance as well as Sen. O’Ban, representatives from the Pierce County Council and the many volunteers who work hard to preserve DuPont’s history.
Tours of the museum will be given showcasing the museum’s new Native American and Mineral displays. Volunteers will fire up the Dynamite Train and refreshments will be served. If you haven’t done so already, please RSVP by Feb 3rd at 253-882-5943 or via email email@example.com.
