The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) recently recognized Clover Park School District for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the fiscal year that ended Aug. 31, 2012.
For the 13th consecutive year, the district has received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, which is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. The award contributes positively to establishing the district’s commendable Aa2 bond rating and annual state audits as well.

Clover Park School District’s manager of accounting, treasury and accounts payable, David Knechtel, and superintendent Debbie LeBeau hold an award from the Government Finance Officers Association, which recognized the district for its comprehensive annual financial report.
David Knechtel, the district’s manager of accounting, treasury and accounts payable, is primarily responsible for preparing the award-winning CAFR along with a team of financial services accountants and staff who helped compile information used to prepare the CAFR.
To receive GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement, a governmental agency must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized comprehensive annual financial report. An impartial panel of judges reviews the reports that must satisfy both generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements, demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure.”
A copy of the district’s CAFR is available by calling Financial Services at 253-583-5020 or online.
