Lakewood City Manager report to council

December 28, 2013 By The Suburban Times

By John J. Caulfield, City Manager

From December 19-20, the Lakewood Officers Charity visited several apartments and homes and delivered more than 150 toys to children.

The officers met with apartment managers, who provided a list of the families that really needed some help. This event, according to CSO Dawn McGinnis, is so much fun because it’s random. The families have no idea that they were selected. “We knock on the door with pre-selected, age-specific toys. The look on their faces is priceless – a lot of tears and heartfelt “Thank You’s.”

Kudos, once again, to the Lakewood Officers Charity for making this Christmas special for others!
