A Steilacoom Holiday Tradition

December 3, 2013 By The Suburban Times

By Christa Lippert

On December 7, the Steilacoom High School Booster Club will host its annual Red Ribbon Bazaar, providing a great place to purchase one of a kind, locally made gift items.  The Bazaar is in its 16th year and a much anticipated community event.

This year the bazaar will feature wonderful handmade arts and crafts, such as quilts, beautiful jewelry, holiday table wear, photography, handmade ornaments, festive wreaths and many other items.  Students are very involved in the bazaar by hosting a bake sale and coffee bar, producing handmade items, providing gift wrapping, and offering children’s activities and Santa photos.

Holiday choral performances by the Pioneer MS and Steilacoom HS choirs begin at 9:30am with a final performance by the awarding winning Chamber Choir at 3 pm.  The Polynesian dance company Heimana will take the stage at 11:30. There will also be a silent auction of theme decorated table top trees with all the proceeds going directly to student clubs and groups.

The Class of 2014 will be drawing the winners of their raffle prizes which include a Galaxy Android tablet, a Nikon Coolpix camera and a Sodastream machine. The Red Ribbon Bazaar will be held at Steilacoom High School between 9am and 4pm.  The school is located at 54 Sentinel Dr in Steilacoom.  Check out the facebook page: Red Ribbon Bazaar at SHS and if you have questions email redribbonbazaar@hotmail.com.
