Tacoma City Ballet’s The Nutcracker and The Tale of The Hard Nut Sponsors Toys for Tots

November 10, 2013 By The Suburban Times

TACOMA – Once again, Tacoma City Ballet is proud to sponsor the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation’s Toy Drive. Audience Members are encouraged to please bring a donation of a new unwrapped toy to any performance of Tacoma City Ballet’s The Nutcracker and The Tale of The Hard Nut at the Pantages Theater December 7th-22nd, and receive a Christmas Tree Ornament created from of a piece of The Nutcracker’s historic scenery in honor of your toy donation.

The goal of Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.  The objectives of the Foundation are the same as those of the overall Toys for Tots program: To help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to improving communities in the future.

Representatives from the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation will be on hand at each performance to accept donations for needy children in our community.

Tickets for Tacoma City Ballet’s World Premiere, The Nutcracker and The Tale of The Hard Nut, are on sale now at the Broadway Center for Performing Arts Box Office! Tickets range between $20-$60 for performances on Saturdays and Sundays, December 7th & 8th, 14th & 15th, and 21st & 22nd.  All performances are at 3:00 PM.
