Free access to Pt. Defiance Zoo and NW Trek for veterans Nov. 10 & 11

November 7, 2013 By The Suburban Times

TACOMA, Wash. — U.S. military veterans are invited to enjoy the splendor of Northwest Trek Wildlife Park and the wonder of Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium at no charge during Veterans’ Appreciation Days, Nov. 10 and 11.

Immediate family members receive half off general admission.

The offer is open to all men and women who are serving or have served honorably in the United States armed services.

Proof of military service is required. Acceptable documents include military or veteran identification card, discharge papers, DD 214 or any other proof of military service.

Veterans Day is on Nov. 11.

Northwest Trek will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10, and Monday, Nov. 11.

Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Oh, say, can you see? Eagle-eyed veterans will spot this as a great opportunity to enjoy nature and wildlife at its finest. Though we have to be honest here, the eagle still has better vision.
