CWA: Middle, Upper School win fall drizzle Ultimate Championship

November 6, 2013 By Charles Wright Academy

Tacoma, Wash. – Congratulations to the Charles Wright Middle School and Upper School Ultimate teams for their success at Fall Drizzle, an annual Ultimate tournament held at Skagit River Park in Burlington, Wash., on Oct. 26-27. Both teams posted perfect 4-0 records on their way to win the Middle School and Upper School divisions.

The Middle School team defeated Seattle Country Day School 9-8 in the championship match of the eight-team tournament, marking the third of their four matches that were decided by a single point.

The Upper School team dominated all four games, beating teams from throughout Washington and British Columbia. Student athletes from all four Upper School grades led the CWA club team to their first-ever Fall Drizzle championship.

This is the seventh year of the tournament hosted by Western Washington University’s (WWU) women’s Ultimate team; CWA has participated every year. CWA alum Natalie Powell, who used to play in the tournament, now helps run the two-day event for WWU. Go Tarriers!
