A crisp, sunny October afternoon was the perfect opportunity for the DuPont Fall Tree planting hosted by the City of DuPont and the DuPont Lions Club. Chloe Clark Elementary School was the recipient of an Amur Corktree, donated by the DuPont Lions Club. City of DuPont elected officials and city staff, Lions Club members, DuPont firefighters and Steilacoom Historical School District staff and students attended the event to support and celebrate the urban forest.
Mr. Bradshaw’s 3rd grade students assisted with the planting and enhanced their lessons about the environment and the history of Arbor Day. Annually, the landscape of Chloe Clark Elementary has been enhanced with a donated sapling creating a community learning opportunity for all involved. A special thanks to the DuPont Forza for cups of hot chocolate.
