Washington State’s Health Care Authority has scheduled benefits fairs around the state during November, the annual open enrollment period for members in the Public Employees Benefits Board (PEBB) Program.
The PEBB Program covers eligible employees and retirees of state agencies, higher-education institutions, and participating political subdivisions and K-12 school districts.
Representatives of health insurance carriers and vendors that provide PEBB benefits—as well as staff from the PEBB Program and the Department of Retirement Systems—will be on hand to answer members’ questions and distribute information about their choices in the new plan year, which begins January 1, 2014.
This year, many of the fairs will also include a presentation on PEBB’s flexible spending account, provided by a new vendor for 2014, Flex-Plan Services, Inc. PEBB staff and HealthEquity will also lead presentations on wellness and health savings accounts, respectively.
The fairs start November 1 in Bellevue and Port Angeles, and conclude November 18 in Shoreline and Olympia. A full list of the fairs, hours, and addresses is posted on the Health Care Authority website at www.hca.wa.gov/pebb/
