It’s happening. This weekend, LASA will be vacating our office at 8956 Gravelly Lake Drive and moving to the second floor of Trinity Baptist Church at 8421 Meadow Road. This will be our transitory home for the next year, and we will continue to provide our services to the community from this space.
This temporary relocation is taking place to accommodate the construction of a project which has been a long time in the making. Shortly after our current office has been vacated, we will break ground on that property to build an expanded Client Services Center and a complex containing fifteen units of permanent affordable housing. This project seeks to accomplish two complementary objectives within Pierce County: the expanded offering of preventative and basic needs services, and the provision of safe and affordable housing. Upon completion of this facility, LASA will move back to their home on Gravelly Lake Drive.
LASA is in need of volunteers to help us with the moving process on Saturday, November 2nd, and would like to invite the community to get involved! If you or your group is interested in helping for any amount of time, please call Janne at 253-370-0409.
LASA provides emergency, transitional, and rapid re-housing programs along with case management services to families experiencing homelessness across Pierce County. In addition, we offer preventative services to the Lakewood community in the form of rent and utility assistance and basic needs services such as the provision of diapers and toiletries.
