PCTV now available in HD on the Click! Network

October 27, 2013 By The Suburban Times

Pierce County News Release

The award-winning Pierce County Television (PCTV) is now available in high definition to Click! Cable TV subscribers on channel 522.

“Click! Cable TV is proud to support Pierce County TV in its transition to high definition broadcasts,” said Click! General Manager Tenzin Gyaltsen. “As the number of high definition televisions in use continues to grow, this transition will make PCTV’s local information easy to access within the HD lineup.”

PCTV provides transparency for local government by televising meetings of eight jurisdictions. The EMMY-nominated channel was recently awarded first-place accolades by the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) for its productions of “Pierce County News” and the “Rainier Country” news magazine.

“We produce stories about people, places and events throughout the region, and we are excited that viewers will now see our productions in brilliant high definition,” said Dave Hinman, General Manager of PCTV. “Our friends at Click! Cable TV are very supportive of local programming. They are great corporate citizens.”

Hinman noted that PCTV has been in discussion with Comcast about moving into the HD tier for over a year.

PCTV airs meetings and special programming for Pierce County, University Place, Puyallup, Sumner, DuPont, Fife and Orting, as well as Sound Transit and the Port of Tacoma. Programming is available on the following channels and platforms:

Click! Cable TV: channel 22/522 HD

Comcast Cable: channel 22

Rainier Connect: channel 20
