Saturday morning grief seminar offered at Mountain View Funeral Home

October 17, 2013 By The Suburban Times

The typical grief support group is a gathering of 8 to 12 people. Most have gone through the death of a loved on within the past 4 to 6 months. They have come to find help to endure the pain and move toward healing of their broken hearts. We are always aware that many more grievers are suffering alone. They don’t know about this kind of support, or they don’t think it’s for them. Or the scheduling doesn’t work.

Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood will offer a Saturday morning Grief Seminar on October 19, 10am to noon. Information about grief and grieving will be presented by Geoff Piper, Grief Consultant. Family Service Counselors will also be present to address practical concerns. The Seminar will be held in Mountain View’s Celebration of Life Center at 4100 Steilacoom Boulevard SW in Lakewood. A 7-week Grief Recovery Method Outreach program of grief education and support will begin the following Saturday, October 26. There is no charge for the Seminar or the group.

Whether you are grieving or you want to help someone else, this Seminar is for you.

For information and to sign up to attend the Seminar, contact Geoff Piper at 253-217-7022 or gahpiper@gmail.com. Or call Mountain View at 253-584-0252.

Note: Mountain View also has an ongoing grief support group for people who have lost their spouses or life partners. That group takes place on 1st and 3rd Wednesdays, 6:30 – 8:00 pm, also in the Celebration of Life Center.
