Philip Redeagle passed quietly Sunday evening, September 29th, at Tacoma General Hospital, Tacoma, Washington. Philip was born in a log cabin at Fort Kipp on the Fort Peck Reservation in Montana on November 25th, 1916. He was 96 years old when he passed. Philip was long known for his basketball skills and for being on the Polar High School State Basketball, Class B, State Championship Team in 1936. He was recently placed in the Montana State Basketball Hall of Fame. Philip was buried at the Ft. Kipp Cemetery on October 9th. A Tacoma memorial will be held for him at the Puyallup Tribe Youth Community Center at 5803 North Levee Road, Tacoma, WA on Saturday, October 19th from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Helen Darlene (Dot) Crandall, born in Farmington, Kansas on September 13, 1932 went to be with the Lord on October 12, 2013. Dot was the 7th of 8 children born to Frank and Nancy Clayton. She lived an adventurous, wonderful life having spent time living and making lifelong friends in Texas, Mississippi, Spain, England, and Minnesota before settling in Tacoma, Washington.
Dot was a devoted mother and grandmother. She leaves behind a son, Sam (Karen) Burks; two granddaughters, Ashley and Lindsey Burks; a great grandson, Landon Meade; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was loved by all and will be deeply missed.
A graveside service will take place on Friday, October 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Old Tacoma Cemetery, 4801 So Tacoma Way, Tacoma WA 98409. There will be a reception following the service at New Tacoma Cemetery, Chambers Creek Chapel; 9221 Chambers Creek Rd W, University Place, WA 98467.
Our mother will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Remembrances may be made to Tacoma Pierce County Humane Society in her honor.
