The City of Lakewood posted a permit sign on LASA’s property this week, marking more progress toward the construction of a long-awaited facility on Gravelly Lake Drive.
LASA will break ground later this winter on the two-part complex which will feature fifteen units of low-income permanent housing and an enhanced Client Services Center. The project will meet the community’s need for an increase in affordable housing options and an expanded offering of basic needs and preventive services.
LASA will close down their current location beginning on October 28th and will reopen on November 12th at Trinity Baptist Church, 8421 Meadow Road SW. This will be the temporary location from which they will operate for the duration of the construction period. Outreach services will be available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 to 12. Occupancy of the new facility is slated for fall of 2014. Stay tuned for an announcement on our formal groundbreaking which will take place in the new year.
