Tacoma’s first microbrewery, Harmon Brewing Co., has partnered with Bates Technical College’s Foundation for the annual Hoptoberfest event, a beer-and-food-pairing fundraiser.
The event will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 5 p.m. in the college’s Downtown Campus Auditorium, 1101 S. Yakima Ave, Tacoma. The evening will begin with the Harmon brewery’s light and crisp Mt. Takhoma Blonde. Representatives from the brewery will pour five additional brews to complement a five-course meal prepared by students in the college’s Culinary Arts program.
In addition to the popular Pt. Defiance IPA, the award-winning brewery will offer a Vanilla Porter and Imperial Redd, with an option to blend, paired with the dessert course of chocolate raspberry linzer tart and pumpkin chiffon mousse.
Tickets are $60 each or two for $100. All proceeds from this event support students in need through scholarships from the college’s Foundation.
