Here is a driving tip. When parking your vehicle on the street, always park within 12″ of the curb or road edge. Additionally and more importantly, if you are facing down hill, turn your wheels toward the curb with your tire resting against the curb.
If you are facing up hill, turn your wheels so that the back of your front tire rests against the curb.
Failure to properly park can cost you a parking ticket. Far worse, is the possibility that you could injure or kill an innocent person when your car pops its brake and rolls down the hill. If your car pins an innocent bloke against the wall and you are the last one to have operated the vehicle, you could be charged with vehicular manslaughter.
Many victims have been killed because of this common driver error. I know, it is not likely to happen, but why take the chance? It is so easy to do it right.
