Emily Murer, MS, MT-BC brings a unique blend of talents, formal education, and professional experience to her role as Activity Director at University Place Care Center. With her Master’s Degree and being a board-certified Music Therapist, she incorporates the creative use of music and movement in program design to develop positive rapport with residents. A comprehensive program of activities for residents in long-term care and/or undergoing rehabilitation is a valuable adjunct to their care and overall well-being.
Director of Nursing, Carol Whitman, R.N., states that, “Emily is creative and energetic with a lot of vision; really, to me, she is the best Activity Director I have ever worked with and that’s the truth.”
Murer graduated magna cum laude from Pacific Lutheran University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Musical Arts degree and went on to Radford University, in Pennsylvania, where she achieved her Master of Science in Music Therapy in 2007.
