Received a question from a The Suburban Times reader, “Yesterday (September 19, around 11:30 am) the Lochburn school zone camera (Steilacoom Blvd) was taking pictures of every car with no warning lights flashing. Have you seen/heard that?”
Kevin McClure, Traffic Division Community Service Officer for Lakewood PD reported, “Redflex will periodically check the system by turning on the camera which causes flashing and this should only last for a short time; they have to check exposure and focus and can do this remotely or with a visit from a tech. It is not running all of the time. Plus all infractions come with a video that I check to see if the yellow lights are flashing.”
