Edward Lee Brydie “The Godfather” Feb 27, 1939 – Sept 16, 2013
Edward passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family .Survived by his wife of forty-three years whom he nicknamed “Groovy” along with his children Michael ,Gary, Carol, Susan Mary and Renae. Brother Lawrence Brydie of California; five grandsons Cezar, Bryan, Julian, Shaun, Vincent and two granddaughters Treneice an Alicia. Preceded in death by his mother and father Mary and Clarence Brydie. Brother Llyod and sisters Albertha and Lyvonia. He retired from the United States army after 20 years of service a paratrooper that served two tours in Vietnam and received a purple heart. He was a member of Cassia Lodge #5 for fifty years and Olympic Chapter #2. Ed also retired from Pierce Transit after 20 yrs. He was a serious fisherman, spending hours upon hours at Cabelas with his buddy Bruce. Ed enjoyed watching old cowboy movies or “shoot” em ups He loved spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grand Dad ,with a heart of gold, infectious smile and a hearty laugh . He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
The brightest star in the sky tonight will be our Grand dad saying goodnight.
Betty L Means was born on November 12, 1931 in Tacoma, WA and passed away on August 19, 2013 in Tacoma, WA. She is survived by by son Ron and Linda Means and granddaughters Carla and Rachel; daughter-in-law Jan Means and grandsons Jon-Erik and Kristoffer. Betty’s passing is also mourned by brother Tom Collens, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is superseded in death by husband Bob of 53 years in 2007, and son Gary in 2010. Family memorial service will be held.
Luella M. Loran, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother was born on May 5, 1925 and she went to be with the Lord on September 17, 2013. Luella was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tom, to whom she was married nearly fifty-six years at the time of his passing.
She is survived by her daughter Lisa Loran, her son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Nancy Loran, her granddaughter Katie Loran and her husband Mike Nichols, her granddaughter Megan Loran, her grandson Joey Loran, her sister-in-law Gloria Matz, and many other dear family members and friends.
Luella was an active member of Manitou Park Presbyterian Church, where she served in a variety of offices over the years. Luella was a wonderful homemaker and cook and she took great pride and joy in caring for her family. She was an avid gardener and she truly had a green thumb. Luella could make anything grow well, and she loved her beautiful roses.
Luella loved family gatherings, bowling, crossword puzzles, and reading. She was a huge sports fan and followed all of our local teams, as well as the San Francisco Giants and 49ers from her days in the Bay Area. She enjoyed socializing and chatting with her many friends.
Luella’s was a life well lived and she will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW., Lakewood, WA, on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 2:00p.m. in the Garden Chapel.
