At a ceremony held August 23, Lakewood Water District honored now retired William W. (“Bill”) Philip for his over 44 years of service as a Commissioner, the last many years as Vice President of the Board, by dedicating to him the District’s largest water tank (located on Hemlock Street above Fort Steilacoom Park) and affixing his name to it with an appropriate plaque. Members of the District staff and Mr. Philip’s family attended, taking the opportunity to speak of his rich and frequent contributions of time and talent. It seemed quite appropriate to dedicate such a huge structure to such a “huge” individual and faithful servant to this community.
Patricia Mannie says
