Babbit Neuman Construction (bncc) of Steilacoom works on the facelift at the historic 1906 Washington-Hoyt School in the Proctor District.
The school, expected to be completed in 2014, includes replacement of the 1949 gymnasium, plus adding a new cafeterial, stage, library and clsssrooms.
Frederick Heath the building’s original architect, arrived in Washington at age 34 and started working in 1898, establishing his practice in 1901. The buildings he designed have been said to include “some of the most notable and beautiful structures of the city.”
