Curran Apple Orchard Cider Squeeze

September 5, 2013 By Debbie Klosowski

It’s apple squeezing time at the Curran Apple Orchard in University Place. Don’t miss this great UP tradition.  Join us on Sunday, Sept. 8 from noon to 4 p.m. for a good old fashioned afternoon of fun, food and entertainment.

Meet Johnny Appleseed and the Big Apple while enjoying music by the Sunset Bible Bluegrass Band. Visitors can pick apples for free from untaped trees starting at noon on Sunday, Sept. 8 or they can buy apples at the event.

Bring a clean jug from home and picking bags OR purchase a jug at the event. NO HOMEGROWN OR STORE BOUGHT APPLES ARE ALLOWED.

People who are interested in making cider are limited to pressing two milk crates per family. Be sure to get in the wash line by 2 pm since presses close down at 4pm.

Check out Curran Orchard shirts, travel mugs, ornaments and books along with delicious recipes in the full color Curran Apple Orchard cookbook. Enjoy delicious apple pie and ice cream along with other goodies from the UP Kiwanis.

The orchard is located at 3920 Grandview Drive W in University Place.

VOLUNTEERS ARE STILL NEEDED….CONTACT apples@curranappleorchard.com for more info.
