CISL receives grant from Safeco foundation

September 5, 2013 By Communities in Schools Lakewood

At Communities in Schools of Lakewood, we take great pride in supporting the students of Washington — and we’re thrilled when members of our community want to share in our commitment to youth. That’s why we were so happy when the Safeco Insurance Foundation announced us as a recipient of its Education Initiative grant.

Our grant is one of 30 given by the Safeco Insurance Foundation as part of a two-year commitment to nonprofits throughout Washington and Oregon, totaling an investment of $700,000 to support academic achievement of youth in our communities.

We’re incredibly thankful to receive this grant, which will help us continue to provide After-School and Mentoring programs that serve hundreds of students in Clover Park schools.  We are especially grateful for our caring adult volunteers who make it possible to serve students in the most cost effective way.  We are honored to count Safeco Insurance as a partner in our mission.

If you’d like to learn how to volunteer or support Communities in Schools of Lakewood, please visit www.lakewood.ciswa.org.

Thank you for everything you do to support us — and the community!
