Obituary Notice

August 26, 2013 By The Suburban Times

Janet Ann (McKenna) Anspach, age 75, passed away peacefully August 21, 2013 at Avamere Heritage Rehabilitation of Tacoma nursing home in Tacoma, WA. She was born to James &Geneva(Carlson)McKenna in Bloomfield, Nebr. on June 24, 1938.

JanetShe will be sadly missed by her son Ricky L. Johansen Jr.& friend,Michelle Guerin, BSN, RN of Lacey,WA.; herAunt Avis Carlson, and four sisters and five brothers; Carol Heinrich, Beth Starr, Arliss Srstka, Barry and Steven McKenna, Gene Linnell, Wade and Warren McKenna,numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and beloved friends.

Janet’s lifetime talent was Chef and Caterer as well as Bartender and Restaurant Owner, having owned her own and managed other’s businesses in SD & WA. Janet loved people and she hosted free holiday meals over many years to anyone who didn’t have a family to celebrate with. Janetalways gave generously of her time and talents.

Janet loved living in the great Pacific Northwest and being near her son, Ricky. Their weekly outings and their trips together were the joy of her life. A private memorium at their favorite spot in Oregon (Cannon Beach) will be carried out this year; and a second memorium will be near her grandparents resting place in Swede Cemetery, near Crofton, Nebr. going to be held at a later date, per Janet’s wishes. We will miss you “butterfly” and will always remember you.
